This ongoing multi-phase project includes the renovation of 3C and 4C wings of Building 1 according to the Environmental Program Service Mental Health Guide and the Mental Health Environment of Care Checklist (MHEOCC). 3rd floor will be a light renovation of mainly finishes and MHEOCC items and the 4th floor will be a medium renovation to convert the patient rooms to meet the MHEOCC and Mental Health Design Guidelines.

The design of the interior will take a patient-centered approach to create a calm environment that responds to the needs of the Veterans, while accommodating the well-being and physical demands of the staff. This will be done through the appropriate selection of materials, lighting, and architectural design elements. Finishes will be selected based on durability and maintainability with attention to aesthetics, while following MHEOCC standards.
